Gait analysis and state-of-the-art biomechanical assessments

Gait analysis assesses the way you walk and/ or run to establish if there are any abnormalities that are causing or could cause problems in future, not only with your feet but with the hips, the knees and lower back area. Biomechanical analysis offered by Pantiles Podiatry in Kent can identify any issues and offer advice on rectifying them.

What Is Biomechanics and Why Is It Important?

Biomechanics is a way of analysing human motion and has primarily been used in the professional sports field to identify what causes injuries and how they can be prevented. But a much wider range of people can benefit from the results of biomechanical analysis, and this is a service we offer at Pantiles Podiatry.

The way we walk can inadvertently be altered by an existing health condition, by ageing or through sports injuries, for example. Some gait abnormalities will resolve themselves with time – as the injury heals, for instance. But in other instances, the condition can put excess strain on other joints and areas of the body, resulting in increased pain and reduced mobility over time.

Book Your Appointment for Biomechanical Analysis Today

Fortunately, with the right care, the painful side effects of an abnormal gait can often be resolved or improved with physical therapy and other treatments. Diagnosing the causes is a job for a medical professional, such as a podiatrist or chiropodist. At our clinic, we work in partnership with Edser Labs to use state-of-the-art, computer-aided biomechanical analysis to identify the causes of the problem.

Once diagnosis is complete, we can offer a range of suitable treatments, along with advice on the care of your feet, to relieve pain and to keep you walking and exercising without the risk of longer term damage. Contact us today to make an appointment with a professional, friendly podiatrist.
